Bothered by Peach Fuzz? Consider Dermaplane Therapy

Bothered by Peach Fuzz? Consider Dermaplane Therapy

Though fine in texture and light in color, you may not like the vellus hair that grows on your face. Also known as peach fuzz, this very fine, short hair grows all over your body.

You can use various methods to remove this unwanted hair, but dermaplane therapy offers the most benefits. It not only removes the peach fuzz, but also brightens your look.

At Orange Coast Dermatology, our team of skin and aesthetic experts offers a number of treatments to rejuvenate your skin. If you’re bothered by peach fuzz, we think it’s time to consider dermaplane therapy.

What is dermaplane therapy?

Dermaplaning is a safe and effective skin-rejuvenation treatment. It’s a type of exfoliation that uses a special blade to remove the top layer of dead skin cells, along with the peach fuzz, from your face.

This aesthetic therapy leaves your skin smoother and brighter.

Dermaplane therapy is safe for all skin types, and we use it to treat acne scars and an uneven skin tone. The rejuvenating treatment also softens fine lines and wrinkles and makes dull, dry skin glow again.

What to expect

Our aesthetic experts perform dermaplane therapy in the office. Though this skin-rejuvenating treatment causes little discomfort, we may provide an anesthetic prior to treatment.

After preparing your skin, we use the dermaplaning tool, which looks a lot like a razor, to exfoliate your skin. Treatment takes about 30 minutes, and you may feel a tingling sensation as we scrape the dead skin cells, peach fuzz, and dirt from the surface of your skin.

We apply a cooling gel and sunscreen following your dermaplane therapy. There’s no need for downtime after treatment, but you may notice some redness following your session.

Dermaplane therapy makes your skin more sensitive, and we recommend you protect it from the sun with sunscreen, large sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat.

Your skin may appear brighter immediately after your session, but final results may take a few days.

Benefits of dermaplane therapy

If you’re looking for a simple and effective treatment to rejuvenate your look, it’s time to consider dermaplane therapy. In addition to removing your unwanted peach fuzz, dermaplaning restores your skin’s natural glow and youthful appearance.

It’s also safe for all skin types, benefits common skin concerns, and requires no downtime. And, you can repeat your dermaplane therapy every 3 to 4 weeks to maintain your smooth, bright complexion.

Dermaplane therapy also improves your skin’s response to other treatments. Removing the outer layer of dead skin cells improves your skin’s ability to absorb nutrients from topical skin treatments.

We often recommend a chemical peel after your dermaplane therapy. Scraping away the skin and peach fuzz allows for deeper penetration of the peel to get even better results.

Are you bothered by peach fuzz? What about dull, dry skin? Dermaplane therapy can get rid of the fine hair and rejuvenate your look.

To schedule your dermaplane therapy appointment, call the office that’s most convenient to you. We have offices in Santa Margarita and Mission Viejo, California.
